About Me
Welcome to Silver Fern Counselling & Psychotherapy.
Here you will find information on my background, approach and how I can help you
An Introduction
My name is Dan, and I am a fully qualified Dublin-based Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Leeds, UK; and a Bachelors Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from PCI College, Dublin (Accredited by Middlesex University, London).
I have worked with individuals experiencing mental health issues and neurodivergence for over 15 years - both in the private and public sector - as well as carrying out research for public health programs in the UK.
I began my training as a Counsellor in 2021, have worked with clients with a range of presentations since 2023, and have been fully qualified since 2025.
I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw from a range of modalities, understanding that not all approaches work the same for everyone. I base our sessions upon a person-centred model of care, meeting the client where they are right now. I have a preference for Gestalt and Humanistic practices, which means sometimes thinking outside-the-box in terms of problem solving, but always putting emotional and psychological well-being first-and-foremost. We may also explore Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) and Attachment-based approaches together.
